Shoaib Akhtar Mulling Return to Cricket

Former Pakistan international cricketer and the fastest bowler in the world, Shoaib Akhtar is planning a sensational comeback to the national team fold, after retiring from the game a year back, it has been revealed. The Rawalpindi Express announced his retirement from international cricket during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 which was being held in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and India and has since been away from the game.

According to sources close to the former international cricketer, who used to wear the number 14 jersey for the Pakistan Cricket Team in One Day Internationals and Twenty 20 Internationals, Akhtar is mulling coming back to the game and has almost made up his mind to return to action.

As per the reports that have emerged in The Nation, one of the leading media houses in the country, Shoaib Akhtar has recently signed a multimillion contract with one of the leading sports brand in the world for which, he is busy shooting advertisements for television at the moment and once he is done, he will be hitting the gym to regain his fitness and then the nets.

According to sources close to the controversial fast bowler, who recently courted even more controversy by stating that legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar was afraid of him in his autobiography, The Rawalpindi Express believes that the current Pakistan Cricket Team needs someone like him to lead the attack to become a force to be reckoned with once again.

It was just a few months back that reports had emerged in Pakistan that the fiery speedster had put pen to a paper to a lucrative contract with a television channel but nothing had come of it, but now it seems that the news of Shoaib Akhtar returning to cricket might just turn out to be true.
